Demo Reel 2011

Oct 17 2011

It took forever, but there it goes, my compiled motion graphics works from 2010 to 2011.
Track: Sufjan Stevens – The Perpetual Self Or What Would Saul Alinky Do
Enjoy.

Moar motion! Below is a teaser (just to show the client) of  how neat would be to develop a video tutorial for their new iPad app, so it’s no longer than 20 seconds. Still, I took a little bit of time and worked on this a little more than 1 day. Yez!, I actually modelled an iPad just for this. Enjoy:

e|ou Digital Showreel

Oct 17 2011

I had 2 days to compile a bunch of online campaigns in order to make a digital showreel for a meeting. It also had to contain an animated fluxogram of the agency’s digital engagement. I made the icons and all art direction, which is not much more than a cool color pallete. I had to rush, as of normal, but I was quite satisfied by the outcome and with a little (big) help of SureTarget 2.0 (by Video Copilot) you can go a long way. It’s worth noticing that most of the websites and pieces that you see here are mine. And I’m sounding to full of myself, I hate that.

Hey folks! I once posted a preview for the Virtual Museum I made on my own for TAM. But considering the amount of work i had with it, what I showed was really nothing. The fact is that this project had many steps, and I really could do better than just showing a video.
I mean, I had to model and shade each aircraft from scratch (on not a totally detailed, but still hi-poly level), then gather all of them on a single “showroom”, do some lightning magic, animate all the camera movement and 360 turnarounds, render it all,  convert and color correct them properly to Flash. Oh yes, I forgot to say: this was all meant to re-create a virtual representation of TAM’s real Aviation Museum on São Paulo’s stateside, hosted on tamkids.com.br.
The long process continued on Flash, where I designed, animated and co-programmed  the little(big)site that, well, while kida heavy, the client loves and it’s a nice package. Go figure. Anyway, enough with the talking, I’m here to show you some larger renders of the 3D work, and the screens of the final product, which you can visit here. Enjoy (and remember: you can click and enlarge the pictures) :] :

Here’s some of the aircrafts close-ups (click’em!):

A screenshot of Maya, so you can actually believe in this madness.

And last, but not least, some screen grabs of the site:

Ah to the hell with it, here’s the video I posted many months ago:

Fabiana Cozza

Mar 20 2011

Here are some stuff I created and/or developed for a well-known local singer, Fabiana Cozza. I’ll start this post with a trailer for her DVD (I just made the intro and some footage treatment):

Her site was a big co-lab with Richard (me visuals and flash, him with the development), this is one big ass portal designed in WordPress, linked with many 2.0 social networks, for the singer Fabiana Cozza. She in quite well-known, even overseas, and quite busy as well, so we aimed for developing a site ‘on the go’, which her staff could manage while on tour. All her channels feed the site, Flickr, MySpace, YouTube, Twitter, and some others. A huge dev effort with the WP platform, which is awesome.

It went online a little bit different, and I recommend you to check it out: www.fabianacozza.com.br.

And there was also some heavy branding work for her. Beyond her logo and visual identity, I’ll sum it all up with her Ecobag artwork (the promotional DVD she just released come within it), which also lead to many print materials:

G’morning! I don’t know why I haven’t posted these clips yet, so here goes 3 TV Spots (for reals) for TAM Kids. All done in my usual combo Flash+Maya+After Effects.
First off, and nothing to do with the Museum, here’s the 30″ TV Spot about TAM Kids special campaign for october (the month of children as we know it).

This is the 30″ one for TV, now actually talking about the real TAM Aviation Museum and it’s location.

And last but not least, the 15″ insert for theaters, inviting the little kids on Cinemark to visit the Virtual Aviation Museum on tamkids.com.br

That’s all folks. Better late than never, right?

Here’s a piece made in order to obtain Leo Madeira’s attention, and therefore, their relationship program, “Amigo Leo”. Leo Madeira is a huge brand in national territories, the definitive authority on everything wood-related.

This was made from a compilation of workshop videos from vimeo itself, with a lot of editing and After “Effecting”, except from the final part, which was made on Maya (and then there is the final vignette). Hope you enjoy.

This spectacular song is Hush written and performed by Angus & Julia Stone.

We are a runner-up for Citi’s 2011 account, and for the keynote, I was asked to do a “making of” video of the whole process. Here’s the result:

Robot Rock!

Nov 18 2010

There are days when suddenly, completely out of nowhere, I am asked to do something utterly and unexpectedly bizarre. This day was one of these. Simply put, I was told to illustrate realistically a cyborg performing a bicycle kick (you know, the soccer football one). Even not having much time (2 days, precisely) I decided to do it in 3D. It’s arguably harder and more time consuming, but I was convinced that I would have to spend more time on Photoshop or Illustrator to achieve realism.

And hours and hours after, here is a short clip made for Conventions and Business Expos and … oh, shit. I guess I forgot to say what this was all about… this is an concept for BMS (Brazil Machinery Solutions) 2011 campaign, being the goal of this organization to export and be ambassadors of brazilian technology and machinery around the globe… yeah, all of them.
So, beside this neat video, I made some renders and stuff with this guy. Quick stuff,  here’s the concept illustration itself, a stand simulation for their frequent conventions and the trophy concept for their annual awards.

Robots, robots everywhere!

A rare occasion, I’m just posting a work right after finishing it. :D . Hell yeah, this is a “Motion Graphic” piece for an endomarketing campaign for Coelho da Fonseca, about environmental conscience and their recycling program. I came up with this sleek visual Id and AE solution, I enjoyed the final result, and I hope so will you.

Here’s the endomarketing site created for this…. It aired a bit different, but since it’s closed you can enjoy the original preview I mounted and uploaded here.

e|ou boa de briga

Sep 10 2010

I can’t believe I had not posted this yet. This is about 2 years old, but since it was one of the rare occasions in which I was left loose to mess with AE, the final result is something that pleases me ’till this day. And apparently the agency is also very fond of it, since the managers still show this video on business presentations.
It is nothing more than a gathering of numbers, facts and statements, mostly afirming and explaining the company’s new tagline “Boa de Briga” (stands for something like “Restless Fighter”). Enjoy. :D

The main downside of working with a studio/agency is the ‘awards season’. As if you were not busy enough, thousand things must be done in order to submit a work to these annual events.
And big news: It’s getting worse. Now there is a whole trend of doing some CG videos to show the cases.

Thing is: I was called at 13pm, to create from scratch 3 videos of these, to be finished and submitted to DMA Echo Awards 2010 on the same day. Until 19pm. 6 hours to make 6 minutes of typemotion on AE. I can assure you it’s a damn short time. My rep as Miracle Man here will be my damnation, but while I stand tall, I get the shit done. And here is the shit I’ve done:

This one was for Citroëns’ L’Expert Commerce, read more for the other two cases from SulAmérica :]

aaaaaand…

As I mentioned on my first post about TAM Kids, I would eventually post some other things, relevant things.
Here it is, the Flash+AE animation I made about aviation history for the site’s release. I’m not really proud of this, I was forced to make this in 2 days, and I really wish I had more time to polish this. Nonetheless, it was a big effort.
Check it out:

There is also, a feature video about the release event, which came out pretty cool.
I’ve got to admit, I like this one better, even it having much less purpouse than the first.
Once again, it was all edited on Premiere and then ‘After Effected’

AON – CLIENT WORLD

Apr 23 2010

This one is old, but almost nobody have seen it, so here it goes.
An opening vignette (and Visual ID) for AON Client World convention’s press release.
It’s nice that I came up with this logo too and everything tied together nicely. I had fun doing this 3D work on AE (with a little help of my friend, Adobe Flash CS3).

Hope you rike it! (Kojima San style)

From the series “I should have posted this a long while ago but my site was stale”, here it goes some real quick Mo-graph goodness. In 2009 e|ou obtained the BSP account, due mainly to these (and their print counterpart as well). The idea was simple: to quote some sucessful business man taking about his graduation and highlight the key words, in a meta-tag esque for whom may be interested in attending to their courses (BSP stands for Business School São Paulo).
They really wanted to make an all-type, clean and minimal approach, still with a strong “interwebz” and 2.0 identity. Nailed, IMO. So here’s a little montage with 4 of the videos for this campaign (there are a bunch of them). Everything made with the almighty After Effects.

Another quick motion work.
Blending Maya & AE cameras, I made this 10″ for the Annual Brazilian Franchising Expo.
No sound since it was developed exclusively for public displays.

I also made the print material, but I really don’t feel like posting it. :D
